Hi, I'm Joshua , the photographer behind Jmid Photography, also known as Joshua Middleton Photography. I was born and raised in Oviedo, Florida––a small town just outside of Orlando. I graduated from Lynn University in 2024 with my BFA in Visual Arts and Design, specializing in photography.

How I Found Photography

 

My journey into photography began in 2020, right at the start of the pandemic. At the time, I was preparing to start college, and I found myself struggling with the uncertainty of what the next few months would look like. With socializing limited and so much time being spent at home, I knew I needed something new to challenge myself and keep me inspired. One day, I picked up my dad’s camera and started exploring my neighborhood through a lens.

 

What began as a way to get outside quickly became something I genuinely loved. Every day, I would wake up looking for something new to photograph—whether it was the way light reflected off a surface, wildlife I happened to come across, or the beauty of the scenery around me. I started noticing little details that I might have otherwise overlooked. Photography gave me a new way to slow down, explore, and appreciate the world around me. More importantly, it sparked a passion that I knew I wanted to pursue.

 

That summer, I made a big decision: I changed my college degree from Graphic Design to Photography. What started with simply picking up my dad’s camera during a difficult season ultimately became the beginning of my journey as a photographer—and eventually, the foundation for Jmid Photography.

 

Where Faith Meets Photography

I believe photography is more than simply capturing an image—it’s about preserving the moments, people, and stories that make life meaningful. My faith is at the heart of everything I do, and through Jmid Photography, I strive to use the gifts and creativity God has given me to honor Him.

With every photo I capture, my goal is to reflect the beauty of His creation and the unique stories He has placed in each of our lives. Whether I’m capturing a family, a special milestone, or creating a custom piece of artwork, I approach every project with intention, creativity, and gratitude.

Jmid Photography is not only a place for me to share my work—it’s also a platform where I hope to share my faith and give God the glory for the opportunities and abilities He has given me. My prayer is that through both my photography and my life, I can create meaningful work, connect with others, and use this passion to honor Him in everything I do.
